14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Romans 10:14-15
Student graduating
Our trip to the Midwest was pushed back till August. The fundraising was a concern this year with all that was going on, but the outcome was fantastic! We had a great trip visiting friends, family, and sharing with several groups.

Thank you everyone for making this year another great fundraising trip.

A couple of the highlights were the different ways money was raised this year. One was a rummage sale, and another was a night of fellowship on a patio. The outcome was great! The two groups raised nearly $5000.00, which we applied to the student ministry.

This year most, if not all of the University students, will be studying online. All of the students asked if they could get a computer to begin the year. We needed to buy seven new laptops and would need to ask the sponsor for the funds or find the cash to pay for them. With the funds raised, we were able to purchase seven new laptops, a mouse for each, and flash drives, with no added expense to the sponsor.

So a huge thank you to all those who donated their time and resources.

Christina's Church & Feeding Center

August 2020 newsletter
One of the ministries we work with in San Luis is Christina's church and feeding center. She has been going to the new dump just outside of town and sharing the Gospel with the workers there.

She noticed that the men and women digging through the trash were only wearing sandals and flip flops. She sent a message and asked if we had any used shoes we could donate to help these workers.

We did have some used shoes but not nearly enough to make a difference. God prompted me to go ask a boot store in San Luis for a deal on 16 pairs of new leather boots. Memo and I went and asked the owner if he could help us. We purchased 16 pairs of new leather boots at a small discount and brought them to Ruben and Cristina to hand out the next time they went to the dump.

This past Saturday they went out and shared some food with the workers, and also shared the word of God. Then they broke out the boots and gave them to each worker. She said many of the men had tears in their eyes as they sat down and put on the new boots.

As I read her message, I thought about how many pairs of shoes I own that lay in my closet, and just 28 miles away are men who break out in tears over a new pair of work boots.

Then it dawned on me, I forgot to get them socks! I wanted to share this story because this kind of work can only be done because of your faithful support and giving. Thank you for your commitment and generosity.

Feeding Those In Need

The students are still handing out food to the families they find in need.  They have helped around 160 families by providing food and basic necessities.

The students are all signed up for the new school year and are eager to take on another year of learning. Please keep these young adults in your prayers.  We are looking forward to the day we can get together again as a group and share our laughter and love.
