February 2022 Newsletter
Greetings Friends,
Thank you everyone for the year-end gifts we received, and for your great support throughout the whole year. It was a great year last year, and it looks like a great start to this year!
We have been blessed to add a couple of new students to the program starting off the new year. That is always a plus. We will also be seeing three of our students graduate this year in February. Lucero will be walking the stage to receive a degree in Law. Yahir will be receiving his degree in Law as well. Adrianna will be graduating with a degree in Psychology. It is a dream come true to be able to see these young adults move ahead with their degrees.
Along with the graduations, there have come some surprises. Some of our recent graduates have worked for a bit in their field, and decided they want to strive for a higher education. One of our graduated nurses has worked in the field, and now has decided she wants to study to be a doctor. So last month she made a move to Mexicali, and started in a university to become a doctor. As we have discussed amongst our board members, this is a great accomplishment. Yet it also brings on some challenges for how the sponsors pay for a much higher education, and how we can help them and the students. We are looking for advice from someone with expertise on how to start and maintain a scholarship program. Or might there be someone who would like to help finance this program for those wanting to go on to a higher degree of education? Your advice and help would be greatly appreciated.
After building a home in October and one in December, we have finished our first house of 2022 a few weeks ago. We had a group of ministry interns from Church for the City of Yuma come join us. It was a great week building for a lady who is disabled and in a wheelchair. She and her son were very happy to have a home and a place to call their very own. Thank you CTC interns, for your loving and serving hearts. We enjoyed our time with you, and the fellowship during the week. Making new relationships is always a joy. One of the concerns on this build was the security for her and the property. There was no fence to protect her and her belongings. Sundance RV park in Yuma asked how they could help. So I shared the situation with them, and they decided to coordinate a fundraiser for a security fence. This week they had a benefit dinner for the cause, and were able to raise all the funds for the fence, plus more for a future house build. It is truly amazing to watch the family of God work together to fulfill a need! 1 Corinthians 12:7-17
Thank you for a great last year and looking forward to serving alongside you this new year.
Prayer requests:
Wisdom for the whole ministry
The students
Finances for the student ministry as it continues to grow
Love you,
Curt and Kelly
