Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Hello Friends,
We have had time off to prepare for the upcoming summer events. We plan on being in South Dakota at the end of July. Our plans are to have an evening to get together at the Sioux Falls Fairgrounds, with all who have served, and anyone who has interest in serving. The date has not been set yet, but will be shared once the details are ironed out. Then on to Nebraska the end of July through the first of August. We will be having a gathering there at the fire hall in Nebraska City. Next on to Omaha for the annual golf outing we participate in every year. We will also visit with our friends and family in the Omaha area. As the details get finalized, we will be sending out dates and invitations.

We are getting prepared to send out the letters from all the students to their sponsors, along with the amount of tuition due for this year. Let me take a few lines to share some stories about these young adults. I received a message from our Medical student last week. In one picture, she is shown standing in front of her medical school colleagues sharing info. Other photos are of her class in the field, in a small community outside her city she studies in. Her words to us were “ The disease situation is very sad. We advise them to seek medical help, and that is what they cannot afford.” We met this student at her grandma's house 13 years ago. At the time, she was interested in only a pair of new shoes. As we started to get to know the family, it became apparent that she was also interested in pursuing an education. And now after studying for, and receiving a degree in nursing, she has entered Medical school. She is fulfilling the dream we always tell them to pursue. Her plans are to be a great doctor. No doubt in my mind that she will accomplish that.

Another young lady graduated a year ago with a degree in law. (see photo on the right)
Her dream was to enter the police academy and become an officer. After that, her dream is to become a detective when she reaches the age required to go to the detective academy. My memory of this young lady as a little girl is building her a house. Every time she heard my old diesel truck come down the street, there she was, standing at the fence, ready to come and jump into my arms with a bear hug. This week she sent a message thanking her sponsor and Casa for helping her fulfill that dream. She took her entrance exam, passed it, and has now entered the police academy. DREAM COME TRUE for this young lady.
We tell them to reach for their dreams, and they are doing that.

I share these stories because as we prepare to send the invoices out for tuition, I see the need to add to our already existing scholarship funds. Many of these student sponsors are being asked to pay a lot of money to continue helping these young adults break the cycle of poverty. You may be reading this and you don't sponsor a student. If you feel a tug in your heart to hear more success stories, and would like to help, would you consider giving to the scholarship fund to help some of the current sponsors and new students coming up? Any funds donated to the scholarship fund will be used for education only. There will be no funds used for administrative costs. These funds are set aside to break the cycle of poverty, and give the next generation HOPE.
Just a little info about one of the student's tuitiion costs. Medical school for one year is 171.600.00 pesos = 10.424 dollars a year. The sponsors, as well as all who know her, are dedicated to seeing this student hold her degree in her hand. This is a huge amount for one couple to bear. By faith, they have committed to help her to the end. And by faith, they have received some help from another couple. This is where the scholarship funds will help many students and their sponsors. Would you be willing to help? Donations can be made through our website or by mailing a check to:
