May 2025 Newsletter

Enclosed in this correspondence is a testimony from one of our sponsored students. The purpose of this letter is to help us raise money to strengthen our scholarship fund. The student ministry is growing, and the sponsorship for students is getting smaller. These young adults' lives are being transformed not only in academic life, but in their walk with Christ. I ask you to read every word of this testimony and imagine a life with very little hope, and then a transformation to a new life in Christ, and an education for the future. Their curriculum at our monthly meetings right now is a series on leadership, and what we are seeing are the future leaders of Mexico. Please read every word and prayerfully consider what part you would play in a young person's future. Thank you for taking the time to read this inspiring and heartfelt letter.

Hello, my name is América ♥

I am a medical student currently in my 7th semester of the degree. But getting here was a difficult journey, full of obstacles and doubts — a journey I could never have walked alone.

I was only 15 years old when I began dreaming of a university education. At that age, while other teenagers thought about their present, I was consumed by thoughts of my future. Why? Because I wanted to escape a reality marked by scarcity and sadness. My present felt empty, aimless… hopeless.

That was when I met Casas de la Esperanza.

They didn’t just offer me the chance to study medicine.

They gave me a new life.

They helped me find purpose, heal my wounds, and discover that my worth wasn’t defined by my circumstances, but by who I could become.

Today, I am 23 years old. And beyond studying the career of my dreams, I came to know God. I learned that living is more than just surviving — it’s about serving, loving, and doing good. That’s what my life is about now: doing good with all that I’ve received.

With your support, you can give another young person the chance to change their story. You can sow hope in a country where so many feel like they no longer have a future. You can be the spark that rescues a heart that only needs one opportunity to shine.

Supporting a student is not just an act of charity.
It’s an act of faith.

It’s believing that the youth of Mexico can move forward, that they can build a better country — if only someone chooses to believe in them.

Thank you for reading my words.

Thank you for opening your heart.
And thank you, in advance, for becoming part of a story that is still being written.

And I’m not just a future doctor.

I am a restored woman.

A woman who learned that giving is more powerful than receiving, and that healing isn’t something that only happens in hospitals — sometimes it begins with a hug, a word, a chance.

I want to share with you the verse that has been my lighthouse along the way:

“Call to me and I will answer you, and I will show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” — Jeremiah 33:3, That verse saved me. Because when I cried out, when I wept without answers, God answered… He answered through people.

He answered with hope.

And today, He is answering with this letter — one that you may be reading with an open heart.

And you can be the answer for someone else.

You can change the life of another young person like me — someone sitting in a small room, eyes closed, praying for a way out.

Someone who doesn’t yet know that life can be different… if only someone believes in them.

Your help is not just financial.

It’s an act of love.

It is a seed of hope in a country where dreaming has become a luxury.

But with you, dreaming becomes possible again.

With love:
América ♥
